The tools of the crafting world
LaceyMay’s offers the tools of the crafting world. The company was established on eBay in May 2006 and for the first year or two we concentrated on laces, wools and other haberdashery tapes.
By 2014 we found that a lot of local sewing and haberdashery shops were closing, and it was becoming more difficult to find a good range of haberdashery items on the high street. Supermarkets and other large stores do hold some items but only a very basic selection. At the same time as that was happening many new TV channels starting up, selling, promoting and demonstrating crafting, bringing this world of haberdashery into each and every home. So in February 2015 we decided to expand LaceyMay’s and since then have dedicated a lot more time to sourcing new lines and a wider range of products and tools.
We now offer a wide range of tools and other products in a range of different sizes that are often difficult to find elsewhere. We source and sell at a price which is affordable to the crafter, and often you will find new items available from LaceyMay’s before they are known out in the marketplace.
Offering supplies from top manufacturers
We find that a lot crafters will only use certain brands, so during 2016 we worked on building relationships with some of the most popular manufactures and can now offer a wide range of tools from top brands in the Haberdashery world, such as Prym, Pony, Clover, Hemline and Dovecraft – to name a few.
We also have expanded the wool department in the Robin, Hayfield and Cygnet wools. We supply a range of sizes and colours from these companies, alongside a large range of sizes and lengths of knitting needles and crochet hooks. We find that a happy knitter or crocheter will love the colours and type of wools that are available; we also try to source more of the needles in various woods, which are kinder on the arms, wrists and hands.
In the future we will be developing the business further with our new LaceyMay’s website, expanding the range of tools that we stock.
We hope that you all had a great Easter weekend with a few hours or more off to enjoy either family or friends. I certainly did my mother visited and we where sewing quilts and chatting about Haberdashery for most of the days. The quilts where for Project Linus of...read more
