Bargello Block and Needlework festival
Only a short blog today as we have a busy week ahead as we are getting closer to are BIG show at Craft4Crafter at Bath and West showground from the 18th October in 23 days. But who is counting.
Preparation is going well so far and and we are crossing off items on our lists to sort out. We shall be next to Seahorse quilting for the 3 day event. So we can help each other out.
We have been making items to go on the back wall to decorate the stand. To show off what is possible with tools and a little time to be able to creat some amazing things.
It was amazing last Sunday before at the Needlework festival at The Hamworthy club on the 16th. Again with two halls and lots of different demonstrations throughout the day.
It was great to see so many new and current friends and customers. We heard lots of positive comments especially with the wide selection of crafts and business there.
We had a few new lines on the day, the popular ones shall and some already have been placed within the shop within Seahorse Quilting at Canford Heath, Poole.
Some to mention are coloured basting pins, Microstitch gun and tags. Appliqué duckbill scissors and 505 spray. 10 degree wedge ideal for large bargello, Christmas tree skirts. Curved safety pins and Thread cutters a pack of two.
We shall be adding more new lines in October, but first shall be celebrating my birthday.
To start the week off I learnt how to make a bargello circle. I have lots of other things planned with friends and family this week but also will be working towards our next event on
Monday week at Happy Patchers open evening at Wimborne Methodist church on Monday 1st October at 7.30pm with guest speaker Jan Hassard. We shall have a table alongside Seahorse quilting selling their fabrics.
Have a great sewing week
We have had a busy few weeks building up to one of our main events that we attend. This is our 2nd year at the Canford needlework festival on Sunday 16th September. Www.canfordneedlework.co.uk From 10-4 with many stalls, needlework groups and demonstrations through the day. With refreshments available as well and free parking. Entrance is just £3.
We will be taking our full range of Haberdashery tools with a sale on our wools and yarns. With lots of new lines added from last year. Some you can only find either at events or within Seahorse Quilting shop situated in Canford Heath next to Asda. The shop is open 9.30-4.30 Monday to Saturday. They run lots of “sit and sew” groups during the week. Where you can chat and get advise if your stuck on something. So why not pop along and chat to one of us.
LaceyMays has a 4 ft wall of quilting and haberdashery tools. Something you need and you can’t see either online or in the shop. Then please let us know. Either email, phone or ask in store. We shall try and source the item for you. We have had many new items added to our range recently as so many people have asked for items. We shall also be adding more after the weekend and then again in November after attending Craft4crafters at Bath &west showground. Shepton Mallet. MOre details about this next week.
On a personal note I did a sponsored walk at the weekend for cancer research. I walked 20,000 steps, about 10 miles. And please to say I’ve raised £345.50 for the cause. It’s already suggested that I try a half marathon next year. Well what’s an addition 3-4 miles. Been thinking I may need a bit more preparation for the half marathon if going to do one next year, as my hip and leg has decided that I need to be kinder to them if Im not going to through as much pain as I have this week.
We hope to see you if your local either at The Hamworthy club, Magna Road, Bournemouth on Sunday, or at the shop if your wanting any Haberdashery or fabric, wadding or threads.
Attached is a picture of a fabric flower that I have learned to make taught by Brenda Franklin. It was a great Saturday and very proud of my first attempt, hopefully shall have some time after the weekend to make another one or two.
Sew have a great week.
