Donkey Derby Bank holiday Mayhem
We are just about to start a very period of different events around the south of the country. We have almost just finished getting ready for the first event where we shall be joining the Quirky Quilters who are based in Somerset for there exhibition. They are holding their event at Frogmary Farm in South Petherton this weekend on Saturday 12th and Sunday 13th May 10-4.30 each day. We are looking forward to meeting the members and also the visitors of the Quilt Exhibition. So as we are not around for the out First Class Friday we are offering First class postage at no extra to you if you purchase anything on the website before Friday 11th May at 12 pm.
As normal we shall be taking a wide selection of our products over the whole range. We shall be taking what we have left of the NEW sashiko range, from templates to threads. Along with our “try it now” kits which seem to be popular when we are out and about and people can see the value in them. Then our next event is the following day at another quilting group a little more local this time. At Happy Patchers at their open evening, with special guest Wendy Gardiner.
Then our next event shall be on the Wednesday 16th May 2.15-4.00, this time at Sturminster Newton in Dorset in there village hall. We attended this last year and really enjoyed the afternoon.
Then I am doing something a little different and help one of my friend Angela, with her first big event at the Create It event in Kent that Hochanda is hosting. I shall be looking after the shop side of things while Angela and another friend Karen both run a workshop of a book which is being decorated in many different ways. The book can be used for a journal for a journey either travel, baby or quilting book.
The following week we shall be back at the Kinson Community centre https://kinsoncommunitycentre.org.uk for their Craft fair on Saturday 26th from 2.30-4.30.
We hope you enjoyed your extended holiday weekend, even though we have been working, we looked forward to a day off on the Monday we were at the Bournemouth Rotary Kinson Donkey Derby starting at noon. It is always a good day and looking at the forecast the weather should be great as well.
Last blog was just after Easter. We hope that you all had a great Easter weekend with a few hours or more off to enjoy either family or friends. I certainly did my mother visited and we where sewing quilts and chatting about Haberdashery for most of the days. The quilts where for Project Linus of course. We had a Linus day back in March the day before we had the 2nd lot of snow here in Bournemouth. It was another great day making more quilt mainly for the boys as the Project was donated Jungle theme fabrics. They all went down very well and in the picture are a few we made during the day. Some of the ladies took some home to finish off so about 30 where made during the day.
We hope that you all did something that you enjoyed over the Easter weekend. Shame the sun did not make an appearance, well in the South of the country it didn’t. But we still went to see the sea for a break before a lunch out. There where discussions of the website and our leaflets which shall be all changing slightly, with the website changed already, knew that WordPress course would come in handy, but still have a few things to do to improve it. Making it more friendly for everyone and making item easier to find.
Dont see anything that you are after then please do email up and we shall see what we can do to help you out.
Did you know that just before Easter the Royal mail had put their prices up. Don’t worry we still offer FREE POSTAGE on all products on the website. So the price you see is the price you pay, unless you are wanting it more urgently, so no worrying about extra hidden charges.
