Events in Somerset, East Dorset and Wimborne
Wow what a busy but great few weeks we have had. We enjoyed our weekend away to join The Quirky Quilters Group for their two day exhibition. With a stunning range of different quilts. We have shown a picture of the room of quilts. There where several other stalls apart from us attending to add to the whole weekend. With Fabric, leather wool and applique templates or bunting etc as well as a raffle, sale table and a demo table of sashiko, EPP, and skills on a sewing machine It was very busy all weekend and we met some lovely people.
On our return we had a quick repack for an evening at Happy Patchers Quilting Group as they had an open evening with special guest Wendy Gardiner who wrote the last The Greatest Sewing Bee Book. Another great evening, Tuesday was to repack again and get ready for Wednesday afternoon were we spent at Sturminster Marshall Craft fair at the village hall.
The following weekend was a busman holiday I along with my friend and craft demonstrator Karen Clare we helped out our friend Angela Dearlove with her first big show at Create It in Kent with her Whimsical houses, which have been on Hochanda ans going to be on there again in July along with make and takes and workshops. It was a great show and we all enjoyed the experience.
We have some exciting new here at LaceyMays Haberdashery but it shall have to wait till next time as we need to get items complete and the pictures taken to show off our new project.
Meanwhile have a great crafty bank holiday weekend if your not working.
We are just about to start a very period of different events around the south of the country. We have almost just finished getting ready for the first event where we shall be joining the Quirky Quilters who are based in Somerset for there exhibition. They are holding their event at Frogmary Farm in South Petherton this weekend on Saturday 12th and Sunday 13th May 10-4.30 each day. We are looking forward to meeting the members and also the visitors of the Quilt Exhibition. So as we are not around for the out First Class Friday we are offering First class postage at no extra to you if you purchase anything on the website before Friday 11th May at 12 pm.
As normal we shall be taking a wide selection of our products over the whole range. We shall be taking what we have left of the NEW sashiko range, from templates to threads. Along with our “try it now” kits which seem to be popular when we are out and about and people can see the value in them. Then our next event is the following day at another quilting group a little more local this time. At Happy Patchers at their open evening, with special guest Wendy Gardiner.
Then our next event shall be on the Wednesday 16th May 2.15-4.00, this time at Sturminster Newton in Dorset in there village hall. We attended this last year and really enjoyed the afternoon.
Then I am doing something a little different and help one of my friend Angela, with her first big event at the Create It event in Kent that Hochanda is hosting. I shall be looking after the shop side of things while Angela and another friend Karen both run a workshop of a book which is being decorated in many different ways. The book can be used for a journal for a journey either travel, baby or quilting book.
The following week we shall be back at the Kinson Community centre https://kinsoncommunitycentre.org.uk for their Craft fair on Saturday 26th from 2.30-4.30.
We hope you enjoyed your extended holiday weekend, even though we have been working, we looked forward to a day off on the Monday we were at the Bournemouth Rotary Kinson Donkey Derby starting at noon. It is always a good day and looking at the forecast the weather should be great as well.
