Selling in our first shop
Hope you have had a good couple of weeks with all this fine weather about and that you are still stitching, quilting or sewing when you have had time. We here at LaceyMay’s Haberdashery have had another couple of very busy weeks, this time we have been helping to supply Seahorse Quilting Fabrics suppling them with a large range of haberdashery items for their new shop.
The new shop which is at Canford Heath Neighbourhood Centre in Poole, Dorset which is a parade of shops opposite an Asda superstore. It is a great location to be in. The main bonus is all that free unlimited car parking. The shop itself is large and very light and airy with 6 large tables ideal to be able to spread your work over. And with a list of workshops just recently come out for morning or afternoon sessions of a mix of classes or bring your own quilting work along to get help from others and also from Sharon and Marion who are always on hand with their years of experience between them.
As we are supplying the haberdashery items for them, we are having a chance to learn more about “what you need” the items that you cannot do without and a few of the luxury items. This also means that if you are local to Poole that you are able to look at the items that you have seen on line and get a feel if the item is what you are after.
Is there an item that you are looking for or that you are having problems trying to locate an item, then give us a call, email email@example.com or pop into the shop and let us know what you are been looking for to aid you in your sewing or knitting hobby. Then we shall do our utmost to locate and supply the item for you.
We have been very successful over the weekend with not one but two items located fairly quickly, with happy customers leaving the shop over the weekend.
Do you belong to a quilting, sewing, embroidery, WI or Townswomen guild or even a charity or other large group that have exhibitions or open evenings that would be interested in have a mobile haberdashery tools stand visiting you. Then please contact us on email at firstname.lastname@example.org as we are looking to attend small and large events of all types all over the Dorset. Not in that area then please contact us and we shall see if we are able to attend if you are in the south then there is always a chance.
Seahorse has just announced their official opening afternoon on Saturday 30th June from 1pm. With cotton fabrics, wadding, threads and of course haberdashery items. There shall be nibbles and refreshments supplied that afternoon. Between 1- 4.30pm if you purchase anything then you shall receive a free gift, to thank you for coming to visit us on our Seahorse Quilting and LaceyMays Haberdashery special day.
Wow what a busy but great few weeks we have had. We enjoyed our weekend away to join The Quirky Quilters Group for their two day exhibition. With a stunning range of different quilts. We have shown a picture of the room of quilts. There where several other stalls apart from us attending to add to the whole weekend. With Fabric, leather wool and applique templates or bunting etc as well as a raffle, sale table and a demo table of sashiko, EPP, and skills on a sewing machine It was very busy all weekend and we met some lovely people.
On our return we had a quick repack for an evening at Happy Patchers Quilting Group as they had an open evening with special guest Wendy Gardiner who wrote the last The Greatest Sewing Bee Book. Another great evening, Tuesday was to repack again and get ready for Wednesday afternoon were we spent at Sturminster Marshall Craft fair at the village hall.
The following weekend was a busman holiday I along with my friend and craft demonstrator Karen Clare we helped out our friend Angela Dearlove with her first big show at Create It in Kent with her Whimsical houses, which have been on Hochanda ans going to be on there again in July along with make and takes and workshops. It was a great show and we all enjoyed the experience.
We have some exciting new here at LaceyMays Haberdashery but it shall have to wait till next time as we need to get items complete and the pictures taken to show off our new project.
Meanwhile have a great crafty bank holiday weekend if your not working.
